Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Jalal-Abad man built water pipes, garden fences out of plastic bottles

AKIPRESS.COM - 68-year-old Abdyrahman Aidarkulov from Aksy, Jalal-Abad made a garden fence and water pipes of the length of 200 meters out of plastic bottles.

Aidarkulov has been collecting plastic bags for 4 years.

“First, I made water pipes. To make 23 meters long pipe, 1000 bags were used," he said mentioning the environmental damage the plastic bottles cause.

"We harm our environment by throwing out plastic bottles. We can make many things our of them. For example, recently, I made a 100-meter fence. Soon I will build a house’s gate from plastic bottles. I use wires to put them together," he said.

Abdyrahman’s works have drawn locals’ attention. He says many people visit him to see his plastic bottle fence and water pipes.

He encourages others to recycle, too.
