AKIPRESS.COM - Turkmen diplomats held a meeting with Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Ambassador to Turkey Mrs. Paula Leal da Silva, who arrived to the Turkmen capital on a working visit, Turkmen foreign ministry said.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of further interaction between the two countries on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and respect. The sides made proposals on the stepping up diplomatic and inter-ministerial cooperation.

In addition, the sides exchanged the views on the development of cooperation in the framework of international organizations.

Focusing on Turkmenistan's readiness to continue multilateral cooperation with Portugal, the Ambassador noted the need to develop trade and economic cooperation and strengthen contacts in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. It was stressed that both sides have great potential for a significant expansion of the entire spectrum of interaction.
