S.Korean Ambassador pledges to work closely with Mongolia’s Foreign Ministry on visa issue

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolian Foreign Affairs Minister D.Tsogtbaatar hosted on June 7 Jeong Jae Nam, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia.

At the meeting, Minister D.Tsogtbaatar emphasized that ‘Comprehensive partnership’ relations between Mongolia and S.Korea are expanding in all sectors and expressed its readiness to work closely with the Ambassador in expanding a dimension of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, increasing S.Korean investment and facilitating travel conditions.

The Ambassador was also asked for support in urgent implementation of$500 million soft loan issued by S.Korean government for the project on reducing air pollution of Ulaanbaatar city.

Recently emerged positive trend in the Korean peninsula and intensifying talks between relevant parties are very significant for regional peace and stability, noted the Minister.

In turn, the Ambassador expressed his commitment to work for elevating Mongolia-S.Korea relations, in particular the effective implementation of the loan and assistance projects and development of economic cooperation that can complement each other, as well as to seek opportunities to cooperate in the field of culture and education.

Mentioning that he is now scrutinizing the visa issue of Mongolians as a priority, the Ambassador expressed willingness to collaborate and exchange views with Mongolia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry on this matter. Moreover, he highlighted an increasing interest of S.Korean businesspersons to invest and cooperate with Mongolia as of an improvement in the Mongolian economy.

The meeting was concluded by Ambassador’s appreciating for Mongolia’s efforts to ensure regional stability in Northeast Asia and pledging to take active part in the measures of the ‘Ulaanbaatar Dialogue’ Initiative on Northeast Asian Security.
