Mongolia, Vietnam eye closer cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia and Vietnam agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation by increasing the exchange of high-level visits and official meetings, the parliament's press office said in a statement Monday.

The agreement came as Yadamsuren Sanjmyatav, deputy speaker of the Mongolian parliament, held talks with visiting Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, Xinhua reports.

Communication and cooperation between legislature bodies are an important channel to deepen mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries, said Sanjmyatav.

Trung expressed his support for any initiative to expand bilateral ties and cooperation, stressing that the two countries should work closely together to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

He added that Mongolia has huge potential to export pure and high- quality beef and mutton to Vietnam.

This year marks the 64th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Vietnam.
