Unemployment rate drops 11.1% in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - Unemployment rate went down 11.1%in the first half of 2018 from the same period last year in Mongolia with 25,800 people registering themselves as unemployed, the National Statistics Office of Mongolia data showed.

But the figure was 7.5% points higher month on month, Xinhua reported.

More than half of the unemployed are female. The unemployment rate was the highest in the age group of 15-34 years.

Mongolia has a population of nearly 3 million.

During the first six months of 2018, only 9,800 people out of the total number of registered unemployed people got a new job through intermediaries.
