AKIPRESS.COM - World Health Organization (WHO) Resident Representative in Mongolia Sergey Diorditsa delivered his credentials to Mongolian Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar on August 28.
Tsogtbaatar and Diorditsa discussed cooperation between Mongolia and the WHO, elaborating the system for training of physicians and health professionals, addressing problems that negatively affect people’s health due to today’s work and lifestyle, ingraining culture of health in people, and supporting the introduction of digital and distance diagnostic technologies to the health sector.
Mongolia became a member of the WHO in 1962, and the organization has been appointing representatives to Ulaanbaatar since 1971. Mr. Sergey Diorditsa is a Russian citizen and a PhD in Virology. Prior to his appointment, he had worked at WHO Office for the Western Pacific and in Bangladesh, North Korea and Ethiopia.
