Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan receives organizers of Asian World Film Festival

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev met with the Executive Director of the Asian World Film Festival Georges Chamchoum and the film director and producer, the founder of the Aitysh Public Foundation Sadyk Sher-Niyaz.

Abilgaziyev said it is gratifying that this year the festival will pay special attention to the films based on the works of the great Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov on the occasion of his 90th jubilee.

He thanked the festival organizers for promoting films from the Asian region in the global movie industry.

The Prime Minister stressed that such festivals are a good opportunity for domestic filmmakers to show themselves, their country and be noticed by the world.

Film director Sadyk Sher-Niyaz said that the main idea of the Asian Film Festival is to deepen ties and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Asian and American film industries.

During the meeting, Georges Chamchoum admired the III World Nomad Games that recently took place in Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting was held on the eve of the 4th Asian World Film Festival, whose co-founder is Sadyk Sher-Niyaz.
