Sharp and Solar Tech complete 16.5MW solar project in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese firm Sharp, has completed a 16.5MW solar PV plant in Mongolia in collaboration with Japanese trading company Shigemitsu Shoji and Mongolian energy company Solar Tech, PVtech reported.

The project at Zamyn Uud, Dornogovi Province, has an annual power generation capacity of around 31,162MWh.

Back in December 2016, Sharp and Shigemitsu Shoji also completed a 10MW solar power plant – first large-scale PV facility in Mongolia.

In April this year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) together with Triodos Investment Management and FMO announced they would be providing a US$31.6 million syndicated loan to Desert Solar Power One (DSPO) to build the largest solar plant in Mongolia, standing at 30MW.
