Mongolia receives $0.5 million humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin received Kazakh Ambassador Kalybek Koblandin on Oct 17.

Kazakhstan handed over Mongolia $500,000 humanitarian assistance for post-disaster recovery in western provinces.

Koblandin hoped the Mongolian Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar’s visit to Kazakhstan next month will greatly contribute to the expansion of Mongolia-Kazakhstan relations.

The money will be earmarked for the reconstruction work in the western Bayan-Ulgii Province, the statement said.

Downpours from July 14 to 16 triggered massive flooding in Bayan-Ulgii, affecting more than 2,500 people, according to Mongolia's National Emergency Management Agency.
