Chief road safety police officer detained after deadly hit-and-run

AKIPRESS.COM - Chief road safety police officer was arrested after deadly hit-and-run, Interior Ministry said.

The road accident occurred on the night of December 2-3 on the Torugart-Bishkek road section in Krasnaya Rechka village.

An 18-year-old was hit to death by the driver of silver car, who fled the scene.

The deceased was pushing his car from the outside after it broke down in the middle of the night.

On December 5, the police found the man involved in the deadly hit-and-run.

Criminal probe into violation of road safety rules was launched. The detainee is the chief of road police department of the Ak-Suu district of Issyk-Kul region.

He confessed to his crime.
