Children under 12 banned to participate in winter and spring horse races in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - G.Zandanshatar, head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government, sent an official letter to governors of aimags and the capital city, advising not to violate children’s right and not to allow participation of jockeys aged below 12 in any horse races to be held until May 1, Montsame reports.

It recalls governmental resolution No: 19 dated 2018 which bans participation of jockeys aged below 12 to be held from the third day of Mongolian Lunar Calendar’s first month (February 7 as of this year) until May 1.

The letter was also delivered to S.Chinzorig, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, J.Byambadorj, chief of National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, O.Altansukh, chief of Authority for Family, Child and Youth Development, and M.Munkhbayasgalan, acting president of Federation of Mongolian Horse Racing Sport and Trainers, obliging to enforce the resolution.
