Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Online outrage forces local authorities to build new school toilet over night

AKIPRESS.COM - Poor condition of pit latrine of a school in rural settlement in Aravan district of Osh region has sparked a public outcry online.

Only 12 children attend the school of 1-4 grades located in Kundoluk village, a home to 20 households. After completing 4 grades, children go to middle school in another village.

After online outrage, deputy head of the district administration Muzafar Mamasaidov visited the place.

The pit toilet had no roof and was about to collapse anytime.

In just 1 day, the local authorities built a new toilet for the school.
