Citizen of Belgium killed in avalanche in Issyk-Kul
AKIPRESS.COM - A 34-year-old citizen of Belgium was killed in an avalanche in Issyk-Kul, where she had been with her brother for skiing.
Dries Cuyckens and Klartje Cuyckens arrived in Karakol on February 13.
They stopped in Boz-Uchuk gorge with the help of the local man, whom Klartje knew from her previous trip to Kyrgyzstan in 2017-2018.
The accident occurred on February 19 when the tourists were skiing down the slope.
Dries could locate his sister dead with the help of the avalanche beacon.
