AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstani President has ratified three agreements between Kazakhstan and Jordan: agreement on legal assistance in criminal matters, agreement on extradition of persons, and agreement on transfer of convicts.

The agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters is aimed at assisting contracting states in conducting investigations, prosecutions and trials in criminal matters.

As of October 1, 2018 6.8 million foreigners from 195 countries visited Kazakhstan, including 616 citizens of Jordan (945 in Jordan). About 8.2 million Kazakhstanis traveled to other countries (in 2017 - 10.3 million people), according to Senator Vladimir Volkov. He said the agreement is necessary due to increasing growth of economic, cultural, and business ties of the country.

He said 947 citizens of Kazakhstan are serving their prison terms abroad, and 1,169 foreigners are imprisoned in Kazakhstan.

The agreement on extradition of persons and agreement on transfer of persons include conditions under which the citizens of the countries can be extradited or transferred.
