AKIPRESS.COM - Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde arrived in Uzbekistan and was received by the Ministry of Finance, it said.
The last time the IMF’s head visited Uzbekistan was 10 years ago when then-Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn visited the republic in 2009.
Lagarde reported on her visit in April during a meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in China. “I want to see with my own eyes the results of large-scale reforms that you are implementing for the benefit of the people of Uzbekistan,” she said then.
She is expected to meet with the President of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
