
AKIPRESS.COM - The Sary-Chelek state biosphere reserve marks the 60th anniversary this year.
The reserve was set up in 1979. It occupies 112,463 ha.
46 species of mammals, 150 species of birds and around 1,500 kinds of plants are under special protection in the reserve.
The reserve preserves ecosystems of alpine meadows, unique natural complexes of Chatkal Valley. Various researches are conducted there.
