AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolian Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar met with Ban Ki-moon, head of the National Council on Climate and Air Quality of the Republic of Korea, on May 29 on the sidelines of the 75th session of the UNESCAP.
They discussed cooperation on reducing air pollution, Montsame reports.
Stressing that the air pollution is one of pressing issues that have direct negative impact on Mongolia’s environment and well-being of citizens, Mr. Tsogtbaatar put forward a proposal to continue collaboration of the two governments in the direction to reduce air pollution.
Mr. Ban Ki-moon said that sources of air pollution in the Northeast Asian countries are different, however strengthening multilateral cooperation for reducing air pollution will play an important role. He added that healthiness of regional citizens and cross-border environmental issues need to be discussed based on scientific studies and information.
