British Yellow Cake company buys uranium from Kazakhstan for $30 million

AKIPRESS.COM - British company Yellow Cake PLC has taken delivery of a shipment of 1.175mln pounds of uranium from NAC Kazatomprom JSC, the company said.

On 31 May 2019 the uranium was delivered and transferred to Yellow Cake at Cameco Corporation's Port Hope/Blind River facility in Ontario, Canada, where the material will be held in storage.

The total cost of this uranium purchase amounts to over $30mln.

Following completion of this transaction Yellow Cake owns around 9.62mln pounds of uranium.

Yellow Cake entered into a long-term contract with Kazatomprom for the purchase of up to 8.1 million pounds of uranium worth totaling $170 million.
