Bishkek to 14th Annual National Conference of English Teachers

AKIPRESS.COM - Over 150 teachers of English from all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic will get acquainted with innovative teaching methods and network with one another for future collaboration at the 14th Annual National Conference of English Teachers.

The Conference, which the Association of Young Teachers is organizing with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek, is taking place on June 26-27 at the Iskhak Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University, the U.S. Embassy said.

The “Advanced Initiatives for Integrated Education” Conference will cover topics such as writing skills; education policy; teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics; modern Central Asian trends in education; and incorporating art into English language classes. Both local and foreign experts are taking part in the Conference, including four highly qualified teachers from the United States, the participation of whom the U.S. State Department is sponsoring.

Conference participants will attend sessions and take part in group discussions with the local and foreign education experts over two days. They can also visit an educational fair that organizations, project implementers, and resources that bring innovation to Kyrgyz education.

The event will conclude with a lottery sponsored by the U.S. Embassy; Lingua Foundation; Arcus; and regional international publisher representatives, such as Macmillan Education, Cambridge University Press, and Oxford University Press.
