AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received State Secretary of Belarusian Security Council Stanislav Zas, the Akorda press service said.

Welcoming the State Secretary, Tokayev stressed the importance of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in peace-building in the region.

Stanislav Zas has been nominated for the post of Secretary General of the CSTO and will start charing the organization since January 1, 2020.

"The CSTO is a priority organization for Kazakhstan. Your upcoming appointment will play an important role in terms of strengthening potential of the organization," he said.

Stanislav Zas congratulated Tokayev on election win and wished him success in further activities.
