AKIPRESS.COM - The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the KazakhExport export insurance company, and Rohi Ohani Tojikiston (Tajik Railways) signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing strategic partnership, the EDB reported.
The sides intend to build long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in the area of transport infrastructure in Tajikistan using products manufactured in and exported from Kazakhstan.
The memorandum envisions that the parties will finance investment projects and share experience and knowledge by participation in workshops, conferences, business forums, and other events.
“A trilateral agreement is a new stage of our future successful cooperation. We expect that our efforts will boost economic development in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan,” said Amangeldy Issenov, Deputy Chairman of the EDB’s Management Board.
According to the understandings reached, the EDB will take part and assist Tajik Railways in its negotiations of medium- and long-term investment projects, consider financing projects under the EDB and company’s current procedures, and advise on investment projects the company could take part in.
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin made an official visit to Dushanbe on July 11. The two countries signed 11 documents on cooperation for more than $80 million.
