This gift was made possible through the Livestock and Market Development Projects - 1 and - 2 implemented jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration of the Kyrgyz Republic, State Veterinary Inspectorate, KNAU and other partners. The projects’ donor is the International Fund for Agricultural Development. During the five-year work of the Projects, KNAU received logistical and consulting assistance totaling US$ 1.5 million.

Students from remote regions of the country were enrolled in the first year in 2014. One of the main admission criteria was the socially vulnerable position of their families. Annual fees for the entire period of study were paid from the funds of the Projects. Good students received scholarships every month. Improved conditions were created for passing practical training, increasing knowledge through participation in foreign conferences. It should be noted that this training program has become one of the innovative experiences in the education system in post-Soviet Kyrgyzstan.

Most of the young people, among whom are girls, completed their studies with good academic performance. Immediately after receiving the diploma, they will return to their home villages to work. Such were the conditions of the previously signed contract between the student, aiyl aymak and the university. Received veterinary kits will serve them well at the very beginning of their professional career.
