Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Salburun festival held in Issyk-Kul region
AKIPRESS.COM - The national hunting salburun festival was held in Ton district, Issyk-Kul region, Turmush reports.
Salburun is a traditional kind of hunt in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, involving falconry, archery and sometimes mounted archery, as well as hunting with the Taigan hunting dogs.
Around 300 partook in the festival. They contested in several disciplines.
District governor Daniyar Arpachiev awarded prizes to winners and participants of the festival.
The festival was concluded with the concert of local artists.
