AKIPRESS.COM - A pier on the shore of Sary-Chelek lake was demolished.
The state environmental protection agency said that the motor boats, scooters, as well finishing are banned at the lake to protect the flora and fauna and biodiversity of the lake.
Sary Chelek is a mountain lake located in Sary Chelek Nature Reserve in Jalal-Abad region. The nature reserve was designated as a World Biosphere reserve by UNESCO. The reserve is located at altitudes from 1,200–4,250 meters above sea level. The reserve currently occupies 23,868 hectares of area.
The nature reserve is home to over 40 mammal species, 175 bird species, and 5 fish species. 1200 types of plant grow there. Many of them are listed in the Red Book of Kyrgyzstan.
