AKIPRESS.COM - A meeting was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation of the CIS Executive Committee headed by the Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – Deputy Executive Secretary S.Ivanov who has arrived to Turkmenistan on a working visit on August 20, Tukmen Foreign Ministry reports.

In the beginning of the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the systematic implementation of the actions in the framework of the Chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the Commonwealth of Independent States which favorably affects the economic and social integration in the whole region. The opportunities for the development of cooperation between the member states in political, economic, ecological and cultural-humanitarian spheres were considered.

The issues related to the preparation to the upcoming events, particularly the meeting of the Council of the Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States which will be held in October of current year were discussed.
