Trade turnover between Mongolia and Russia will reach $2 billion - Russian Vice PM

AKIPRESS.COM - In aims of making the trade turnover between Mongolia and Russia reach USD 2 billion in the near future, the Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation opened in Ulaanbaatar on September 2, Montsame reports.

The opening ceremony of the Trade Representative Office was attended by Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar, Russian Deputy Prime Minister A.V.Gordeyev and Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mongolia I.K.Azizov.

Highlighting the opening of the Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation is taking place during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhin Gol Battles, Deputy PM U.Enkhtuvshin said, “The Government of Mongolia is always willing to comprehensively develop the relations established with the Government of the Russian Federation. Opening the Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation in Ulaanbaatar is a proof of how much significance is being given to the trade and economic partnership between the two countries. I must also note that the Trade Representative Office of Mongolia is also soon to be opened in Vladivostok, Russia. This will improve the partnership between business owners and investors of the two countries, and become an important step in seeking opportunities to develop new projects and programmes in all sectors.”

Russian Deputy PM A.V.Gordeyev said, “During the talks that were held with Deputy PM U.Enkhtuvshin, we expressed that our country will work with the goal to have the annual trade turnover with Mongolia reach USD 2 billion. Establishing a Trade Representative Office is the most important in developing trade and economic relations. Thus, I wish that the Trade Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar will always be open to business owners of Mongolia and Russia.”

Highlighting the importance of great heroic deed of the soldiers that fought in the Khalkhin Gol Battles as enabling the countries to have the relations at today's level, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar said “I am delighted to see Trade Representative Offices being opened in both Mongolia and the Russian Federation in order to enhance the economic relations and improve the partnership of investors. We gladly receive Russian Deputy PM A.V.Gordeyev’s pledge to make the trade turnover between the two countries reach USD 2 billion. It will be great if Mongolian export grows to that level.”

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mongolia I.K.Azizov noted that the Embassy will comprehensively support the Trade Representative Office.
