German technology to reduce toxic smog proposed in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - Governor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan received representatives of Steinmuller Engineering Company of the Federal Republic of Germany on September 17, Montsame reports.

Founded in 2003, the Steinmuller engineering company is specialized in reducing toxic smog caused by coal combustion. The company engineers renewed boiler furnace system of coal-fired power plants in Germany and Eastern and Central European countries. Currently, they are studying opportunities to make renovation in Russian power stations based on Steinmuller’s technology, consulting and training.

The representatives of the company conveyed their proposals to collaborate in reducing toxic smog through making renovation in power stations and steam boilers as well as conduct training to prepare professional personnel and introduce their own technologies in power plants to be newly built in Mongolia.

Governor of the capital city S.Amarsaikhan said that citizens are consuming refined fuel as use of raw coal is banned in the capital city. "To combat with air pollution, we need advanced technological solutions. Authorities of the capital city are open for collaboration. The final result is most important."

Furthermore, the parties talked over practices on successful introduction of technologies to reduce toxic smog caused by coal burning in power stations.
