AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, who arrived in Nur-Sultan to participate in the meeting of the Astana Club International discussion platform, Akorda reports.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as pressing issues of the regional and international agenda.

Welcoming the Iranian diplomat, the Head of State recalled the fruitful meeting with President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Yerevan in October this year. President noted that he expects his Iranian counterpart to visit Nur-Sultan at a convenient time for him.

The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome he received in the capital of Kazakhstan.
