Nude performance at Feminnale was performed by Danish artist

AKIPRESS.COM - Nude performance by a female artist as part of the 1st Feminnale of Contemporary Art international exhibition in the National Fine Arts Museum in Bishkek sparked outrage among some part of the society in Kyrgyzstan.

The scandal around a naked woman performance led to firing of Museum Director Mira Jangaracheva.

The artist who performed the nude performance turned out to be a dancer and artist from Denmark Julie Savery. Julie Savery grew up in Copenhagen, DK, in a family of musicians, dancers and artists. After graduating from Nya Malmö Latin in 2014, she moved to Berlin to complete her professional dance education, from which she graduated in 2019.

"Her love for performance comes from a general love for expressing oneself visually, which she also practices through collage, drawing and photography. Communicating visually is what she does, whether it’s live, digital or analog. Besides performing in Berlin and Copenhagen, she also takes the initiative to nurture own projects, such as her newly founded performance group Collectif Blitz Bereit, and being part of the co-creagency rebelles," according to the information on her website.

On November 29, she posted about her performance in Bishkek on her Facebook account thanking for participation in the Feminnale.
