AKIPRESS.COM - The monument to Chingiz Aitmatov was inaugurated in the Aitmatov Park in Kecioren Municipality of Ankara on December 12, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said.
The monument was made and installed by the Kecioren Municipality at the initiative of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan.
The event was attended by Turkish President’s Senior Adviser Yalcin Topcu, Mayor of Kecioren Municipality Turgut Altinok, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ankara representatives of International Organization of Turkic Culture, Turkish Foreign Ministry, several other ministries and agencies of Turkey, representatives of international and public organizations, businesses, Kyrgyz and Turkish students, media representatives, expats.
Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev, President’s Senior Adviser Yalcin Topcu, Mayor of Kecioren Municipality Turgut Altinok, Kecioren District Governor Ugur Bulut delivered speeches.
Ambassador Omuraliev thanked the guest and fans of the Kyrgyz novelist for coming to the inauguration ceremony and expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Kecioren Municipality and sculptors.
