Nazarbayev arrives in St. Petersburg for EAEU summit

AKIPRESS.COM - Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in St. Petersburg, his spokesman Aidos Ukibai said, Tengrinews.kz reports.

“Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in St. Petersburg for participation in the session of the Higher Eurasian Economic Council and the informal meeting of leaders of the CIS countries,” he said.

Spokesman of the Kazakh President Berik Uali earlier explained why Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will not participate in the upcoming informal summit of the EAEU in St. Petersburg.

"Our country at this summit will be represented by the First President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is an honorary chairman of the Higher Eurasian Economiv Council. According to the traditional practice, the head of state and the Yelbasy do not leave abroad together. The Yelbasy has a right to express his opinions during discussion of certain documents. The right to sign them belongs to the Presdient," Uali told on Facebook.
