PM of Kazakhstan orders to complete implementation of large road projects in 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a meeting on the development of the road industry as part of the Nurly Zhol State Program for 2020-2025, the press service of the Prime Minister said.

“This year, a large amount of work on the construction of roads is to be completed. It is necessary to prepare in advance for the construction season in order to timely and efficiently fulfill the tasks and ensure that the main projects for the modernization of roads are completed by the end of the year,” he said.

In 2019, construction and reconstruction covered 4.4 thousand km of republican roads. At the end of the year, 641 km of traffic was opened. Overhaul and medium repairs of 1.1 thousand km of republican roads and 3.5 thousand km of local network have been completed. The share of republican roads in good and satisfactory condition was brought up to 88%, local roads — up to 71%. The length of roads of the I and II-technical categories of republican significance has been increased to 34% (8.2 thousand km).

The budget of the road industry for 2020 is 750 billion tenge; repair work will cover 9.8 thousand km of national and local roads. Construction work will cover 4 thousand km of roads.

According to the results of the year, it is planned to open traffic on road sections with a total length of 2.6 thousand km, including Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk (763 km), Karaganda – Balkhash – Kapshagay (645 km), Kalbatau – Maykapshagay (415 km), Merke – Burylbaital (266 km), Aktobe – Atyrau – Astrakhan (279 km), etc.

In total, about 100 thousand people will be involved in road construction works of the republican and local network, it is planned to attract investments for the construction of 18 multifunctional “A” category roadside service complexes, the device and maintenance of 304 sanitary and hygienic units.
