AKIPRESS.COM - During its plenary meeting on January 30, the Parliament approved a resolution on scheduling 2020 regular election of the parliament and setting a voting day.

According to the resolution, regular parliamentary election commences on February 1 and the voting will be held on June 24, 2020.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in July 2019 criticized the construction of the LRT in Nur-Sultan saying he does not believe in its profitableness.

The project was planned to be completed by December 2019 and launched in summer 2020. However, construction was terminated in April 2019 due to the problems with funding from the Chinese investors.

A feasibility study of second construction of the light rail transit of Nur-Sultan is being developed at a moment.
