Mongolia proposes to build freight train factory in collaboration with Belarus

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia B.Enkh-Amgalan is visiting Belarus at the invitation from Transport and Communications Minister of Belarus Aleksei Avramenko, Montsame reported.

He met with Belarusian Minister of Industry Pavel Utyupin and put forward a proposal to build a freight train assembly plant in Mongolia in cooperation with the Mogilev Railway Car Building Plant.

The Mongolian Minister pointed out about the increasing demand for freight train for the mining based-railway projects driven by the Mongolia’s growth of mining extraction and expressed the willingness to launch cooperation in this regard.

The Belarusian officials affirmed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation within the Mongolian proposal and highlighted that Mongolia is able to receive loans from the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus aimed at promoting exports in the scope of the EUR 50 million credit line set up between Mongolia and Belarus.

The sides also discussed about supplying all types of trucks and special purpose equipment from the Belarusian manufacturers MAZ, BelAZ and others to Mongolia for the use of auto road maintenance.
