AKIPRESS.COM - The brawl between villagers and attacks on police officers occurred in the Kazakh villages of Sortobe and Masanchi, Kordai district of Jambyl region, last night.

These two villages lie on the border with Kyrgyzstan.

The State Border Service stepped up security measures on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border crossing points.

The President of Kazakhstan offered condolences to families of those who were killed in mass disorders and ordered to conduct thorough investigation to find and severely punish those guilty. The number of victims is not announced.
