Kazakhstan ratifies Geneva Protocol

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the law on ratification of the Protocol for the Prohibition of the Use in War of Asphyxiating, Poisonous or other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare, the press service of the President said.

The Geneva Protocol was earlier considered and ratified by the Mazhilis and the Senate of Kazakhstan.

The goal of the document is identifying the basic norms of the international law confirming the prohibition of using chemical weapon and bacteriological tools of warfare.

By ratification, Kazakhstan recognizes fully the international commitments connected with the chemical and biological safety.
