First Mongolian tested positive for coronavirus in South Korea

AKIPRESS.COM - A Mongolian national who has been in the Republic of Korea was diagnosed with coronavirus, Montsame reported.

The 35-year old man with his wife and sister had flight No. OM 201 on February 12 and upon arrival to South Korea he was served by several medical institutes of the country. He was confirmed with coronavirus infection through examination made yesterday at Namyangju city district hospital. While his wife and sister were not confirmed with coronavirus infection through examination, reported D.Narangerel, Head of the National Center for Public Health during a press conference of the Ministry of Health that was held on February 25.

She said that the patient is more likely to be infected with COVID-19 when he was served by a district hospital in South Korea. As the patient’s wife and sister were not detected with the infection they are not isolated. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and law enforcement organizations are working promptly to clarify which places the infected citizen traveled and those who were close tor him.
