Work of public minibuses suspended in Bishkek over high COVID-19 risks

AKIPRESS.COM - Trolleybuses and some buses work in Bishkek now, Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiev told the briefing today in the Government House.

The decision was made to suspend work of fixed route minibuses (known as marshrutka).

“Marshrutkas pose a particular danger of coronavirus spread,” Erkin Asrandiev said.

Meantime AKIpress readers emailed photos of buses.

"Buses and trolleybuses in Bishkek are overcrowded due to suspension of work of marshrutkas. Doesn't this increase risk of infection from coronavirus?" the reader asked.
