Russia confirmed 182 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the country’s official number of cases up to 840 and marking the largest one-day increase in cases so far, Moscow Times reports.
Two people who tested positive for coronavirus in Moscow died on Wednesday, Russia's coronavirus response center said. The patients were 73 and 88 years old and also had pneumonia.
Russia’s April 22 public vote on a package of constitutional amendments will be postponed until after the coronavirus outbreak is under control, President Vladimir Putin said in an address to the nation Wednesday. He added that next week would be a nationwide paid holiday to encourage Russians to stay home and slow the spread of the virus.
