52.8 km newly built roads to appear in Ulaanbaatar

AKIPRESS.COM - Ulaanbaatar Road Development Department held a briefing about the road construction and maintenance projects to be carried out in Ulaanbaatar this year.

At the beginning of the briefing, acting head of the department B.Indra noted that a total of 158 road projects will be implemented this year with local investments and 3 other projects with foreign investments, Montsame reports. Specifically, it is planned to build 52.8 km roads, extend and renovate 17.5 km roads, repair 178.6 m long bridge, and construct four road tunnels in the capital city in 2020.

According to the acting department head, maintenance projects of main and side roads have been commenced and the maintenance works will cover 65 square kilometers of land area and junctions of 110 km roads.

Also, there are plans to build curb ramps in 175 locations, install 4,111 road signs, set up speed bumps around schools and kindergartens to ensure safety, and build nine bus stops at the request of ger area residents.
