100-year-old yurt kept in Issyk-Kul

AKIPRESS.COM - Group of craftswomen called Altyn iine (Golden needle) in Toru-Aigyr village of Issyk-Kul region keep hundred-year-old yurt, Turmush reports.

Leader of the group Gulmira Moldogaziyeva said that craftswomen make objects that the Kyrgyz used many centuries ago. They’re planning to develop the sphere of ethnotourism to earn money.

“After World Nomad Games people became aware of value of handiwork objects. Now we are renovating the yurt that was made more than 100 years ago. The yurt’s carcass is old, so we have to daub it with horse fat. I received the yurt from the relatives. I keep objects made 60-70 years ago inside,” she said.

She noted that Altyn iine was founded 13 years ago. It includes 10 craftswomen.
