Mexico Covid-19 death toll surges to fourth-highest, surpassing Italy

AKIPRESS.COM - Mexico on Sunday became the country with the fourth-highest death toll from Covid-19, ahead of Italy, according to Mexican health officials and AFP's global tallies.

"There are 35,006 deaths in Mexico," health officials said on the presidency's Twitter account.

Mexico registered 295,268 COVID-19 cases on July 12.

Italy confirmed 295,268 cases and 34,954 deaths.

According to Johns Hopkins University's tally, 132,205 people died in USA, 72,100 in Brazil, 44,904 in UK.
