Mongolian PM, Chinese FM discuss cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh received State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi.

They discussed cooperation between Mongolia and China and issues on regional and international cooperation of mutual concerns, Montsame reports. 

During the meeting, the sides agreed to deepen the Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership, strengthen political trust and mutual understanding, while maintaining the frequency of high-level visits, bringing forward the cooperation in all possible areas as well as large-scale economic joint projects.

The two-day visit paid by the Chinese Foreign Minister wrapped up today after Minister Wang Yi held official bilateral meetings with President Battulga Khaltmaa, Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Foreign Minister of Mongolia Enkhtaivan Nyamtseren and signed several bilateral cooperation documents.

Due to the current regimen of heightened state of emergency preparedness in place, the visit was organized under strict COVID-19 guidelines. As a precautionary measure to prevent from the spread of COVID-19, the Mongolian officials who took part in organizing the official visit and participated in bilateral meetings of the visit, including Minister of Foreign Affairs N.Enkhtaivan, were placed under 14-day isolation as soon as the visit ended.
