Mongolian Health Ministry proposes extension of lockdown

AKIPRESS.COM - State Emergency Commission (SEC) of Mongolia and the government will convene for a meeting to make a decision on the extension of current lockdown.

As the number of COVID-19 cases is growing in Ulaanbaatar city, the strict-lockdown regime was imposed until 6am of January 6.

The Ministry of Health submitted its proposal to extend the lockdown by 14 days to the SEC. The Cabinet will make the final decision at its meeting.

As of today, locally transmitted cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia reached 776. Clusters in Arkhangai and Darkhan-Uul aimags were halted, Montsame reports.

Mongolia reported a total of 1,286 cases, 878 recoveries and 1 death.
