AKIPRESS.COM - Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev published the photo of Lake Issyk-Kul as seen from the International Space Station on his Instagram page.
"Issyk-Kul is the biggest lake in Kyrgyzstan! It lies in the north-eastern part of the country, between the North Tien Shan ranges: Kungei-Ala-Too and Terskei Ala-Too at 1,608 m above sea level," he said.
"The lake is enclosed. It is among world's 30 largest lakes by area and the world's 7 deepest lake," Oleg Artemyev said.
