"We always welcome Russian investments in the Kyrgyz market" - Japarov

AKIPRESS.COM - "We always welcome Russian investments in the Kyrgyz market," Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said on March 17 at the ceremony of launching the gold extraction plant at Jerooy mine in Talas region with Russian President Vladimir Putin participating online.

He welcomed Putin and the participants.

Jerooy is one of the largest deposits in Kyrgyzstan, which was discovered half a century ago. "We want to thank our investors, the Alliance Group, for investing in the Kyrgyz economy. Alliance Altyn has come a long way since they acquired the license for the right to develop the mine. And now in our country, an investment project with Russian participation, which will make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of Talas region and Kyrgyzstan as a whole, is being solemnly launched," Japarov said.

Investors have paid almost 1.5 billion soms to the budget and extrabudgetary funds in the form of taxes and non-tax payments. After the launch the volume of payments to the budget will increase. It is encouraging to note that the total number of employees involved in the project will be about 1,000 people and 95% of them are citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

"I would like to underscore two important points: the first is the need to further strengthen a comprehensive dialogue between the enterprise and the local population; second - we need to comply with all existing environmental requirements for the development of the deposit," he added.

Kyrgyz Republic will continue to support such projects, which help increase the potential of the mining industry and, of course, the development of the country's economy as a whole.

"We always welcome Russian investments in the Kyrgyz market," Japarov said.
