Montana National Guard Commander visits Kyrgyzstan to strengthen long-standing partnership

AKIPRESS.COM - Adjutant General of the Montana National Guard, Major General J. Peter Hronek met with Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Ajikeev as well as First Deputy Foreign Minister Nuran Niyazaliev, accompanied by the U.S. Chargé d'affaires Sonata Coulter during an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic September 25-29, 2021.

Major General Hronek also had meetings with General Major Erlis Terdikbaev, Chief of General Staff, General Major Ularbek Sharsheev, Director, State Border Service and conducted a visit to the Koi Tash Brigade together with Kyrgyz officials to observe the Ministry of Defense’s training areas.

During these meetings, Major General Hronek reaffirmed the U.S. government’s long-standing commitment to the security, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He also highlighted the over 25-year partnership between Montana National Guard and the Kyrgyz Republic, and desire to deepen cooperation in the areas of emergency preparedness, humanitarian assistance, and security cooperation between the U.S. and the Kyrgyz Republic.
