Gross industrial output increased by 22% in Mongolia in 9 months

AKIPRESS.COM - In the first 9 months of 2021, the gross industrial output reached MNT 13.7 trillion, increased by MNT 2.5 trillion (22.0%) from the same period of the previous year, Montsame reports.

This increase was mainly due to MNT 1.7 trillion (22.0%) increase in mining and quarrying gross output and MNT 655.5 billion (25.4%) increase in manufacturing output. Also, the electricity, thermal energy and water supply production output increased by MNT 100.3 billion (11.8%) and the water supply, and sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities production output increased by MNT 18.3 billion (18.4%) from the same period of the previous year.

In September 2021, the gross industrial output reached MNT 1.5 trillion, decreased by MNT 12.2 billion (0.8%) from the previous month. This decrease was mainly due to MNT 47.9 billion (4.7%) decrease in manufacturing output.

In September 2021, the mining and quarrying gross output reached MNT 978.3 billion, decreased by MNT 249.2 billion (20.3%) from the same period of the previous year. This decrease was mainly due to decreases in the mining of coal and lignite by MNT 339.4 billion (77.1%) and extraction of crude petroleum by MNT 46.0 billion (83.8%) from the same period of the previous year.

By the preliminary results of the first 9 months of 2021, the mining and quarrying sector, extraction iron ore, copper concentrate, brown coal and crude oil increased by 3.6 percent to 61.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In the manufacturing sector, production of wheat flour, cement, pure water, soft drink, juice, copper cathode 99%, alcoholic beverage, lime, milk, meat, coal briquette, metal steel, cigarettes and concentrated coal increased by 0.2 percent to 2.1 times compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the mining and quarrying sector, the extraction of fluor spar, gold, and hard coal decreased by 3.1- 12.8 percent. In the manufacturing sector, productions of sanitizer, spirit, combed cashmere, face covering and cashmere products decreased by 1.1-72.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
