AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akan Rakhmetullin met with the Governor of the Brazilian state of Bahia, Ruy Costa dos Santos, the Kazakh foreign ministry said.
The Kazakh diplomat, highly appreciating the level of relations between our country and Brazil, noted an important potential contribution to the development of interregional ties, and expressed hope that such interaction will serve to further bring the two countries closer, especially in terms of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
On his part, the Governor of the State of Bahia, expressing confidence that the formation of interregional ties will give an additional impetus to the entire complex of cooperation between the two states, noted the readiness of the region headed by him to establish close economic ties with Kazakhstan in general, and with the region in particular, including at the sites of the Business Council under the co-chairmanship of the Kazakhstan Center for Industry and Export "QazIndustry" and the Brazilian National Industrial Confederation (CNI), as well as the Intergovernmental Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation being created.
The parties noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of bilateral trade, which doubled in January-August 2021 compared to the same period last year and amounted to USD 109.8 million.
The Brazilian delegation also included regional ministers of economic development and infrastructure.
