Tokayev gets Akhal-Teke horse and Turkmen greyhound as gift from Turkmenistan

AKIPRESS.COM - During a two-day state visit to Turkmenistan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with an Akhal-Teke horse and a Turkmen greyhound, Turkmen TV reported.

An Akhal-Teke horse named Ganatly (Winged) was presented to Tokayev on behalf of the Turkmen people by the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the visit by the heads of state to the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex near Ashgabat.

They witnessed a show of horse riders. After that, Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented the head of Kazakhstan with a Turkmen greyhound named Govkher (Brilliant).

Tokayev thanked the hosts for the respect shown to the people of Kazakhstan and for the gifts. He said that the bilateral relations developed thanks to the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan meet the interests of the two states and peoples.

Tokayev arrived in Turkmenistan on Sunday for a two-day state visit. He is scheduled to have a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Monday. The parties will discuss a wide range of issues of the Turkmen-Kazakh partnership in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Following the bilateral negotiations, signing of a package of bilateral documents is expected.
